Mr. Oliver has launched a full-frontal assault on my life in the last week or so. Not only has his new concept store Recipease launched just down the road, but last night I felt inclined to break out my Flavour Shaker to help me with this chicken recipe from the man himself (…only I will ever know whether I turned my shirt collar up and started talking a little mockney too).
Despite not having quite enough time to marinade the chicken for as long as suggested (nothing a good rub didn’t solve) and having to replace the ’summer savory’ with some thyme, the resulting dish was delicious. The chicken remained tender and moist, and really took on the flavours of the herbs. Teamed with a salad we stole from our friend Anna’s meal at the weekend (spinach, mint, pea shoots, feta, peas, pistachio nuts, all tossed together), this was a simple but tasty dish I’m sure we’ll return to soon.
Questions remaining: what is summer savory?
