Christmas is a funny one; so much excitement, so much anticipation, so much preparation…and then over. By the time I sit down to enjoy it I’m often left with a slightly miffed “has it gone, has it gone, did I miss it, is it really over?” feeling. You’ll know the feeling, if you’ve ever made the effort to go and watch a bit of the Tour de France in person.
This has been tempered dramatically in the last few years by exceptionally good presents from my nearests and dearests (…plus my roast turkey got the nod of approval from my super-cook-aunt this year!). One such foodie-present deserves a special mention.
In the custom of the best presents being those one secretly covets, my cousin and his wife very kindly bought me a Butchery Masterclass at Allens of Mayfair which, I think you’ll have to agree, is a tip-top present for any aspiring cleaver-wielder! I’ve no idea what’ll involve, but am looking forward to it immensely.
My cuz and I will be attending the course sometime in April, so expect a full (blood-stained) write-up to appear here.
